The GYROTONIC® Method
PILATES
What is the GYROTONIC® Method ?
Gyro: to spiral; Tonic: to tone
The Gyrotonic method, developed by Juliu Horvath in 1977, is a unique system of exercises aimed at stabilizing, strengthening, and elongating the joints of the body in all planes of motion. Offering similar benefits also derived from yoga, dance, gymnastics, swimming, and t’ai chi, the Gyrotonic system’s specialized equipment increases range of motion, corrects posture, develops coordination, and gives the body an aligned, lengthened aesthetic. It is also known to help a multitude of lower back and cervical spine problems, including repetitive strain injury, multiple sclerosis, and osteoporosis.
Every exercise is intentional and rooted in technique, and you will leave each session feeling more space in your body and rejuvenated kinetic energy.
